Fenugreek

  • History : 
  • Component : Acts as a soothing emollient with major active compounds mucilages (mannogalactans which are 25-45% of the extract). 25-30% comprised of proteins, steroid saponins includes trigofoenosides and foenugracein for about 15%. Other actives include trigonelline, sterols, volatile oils and flavonoids such as orientin and vetexin. 
  • Benefits/Characteristics : Soothing emollient. Skin sensitization is rare. Has anti-inflammation properties.
  • Reported Precautions : Must not be administered during pregnancy. 
  • Common Applications : Anti-ageing creams, creams.
